The Coffee Machine Buying Guide – Choosing the Appliances Perfect For Your Kitchen

The Right Coffee Machine.

The Coffee Machine Buying Guide provides a simple overview of what is out there on the market, what to look for, and what might be best for you.

Save the pounds on buying your daily coffee fix from cafes and become your own barista! Enjoy an espresso, cappuccino, latte or flat white exactly the way you like it, freshly brewed, ground or filtered in your own home and a fraction of the price.

Prices can vary from £100 to over £1,000 so it is important to decide what type of coffee machine will best suit you and your lifestyle. How frequently would you use the machine? How much should you spend? You may enjoy a good coffee every now and then so a basic model would be sufficient, or perhaps you cannot live without your morning espresso in which case it would be worth spending a little more as you will use it frequently enough to really get the most out of your machine. As with any appliance, it is an investment, one on which you want to rely and benefit from for a decent amount of time.

Not only is it important to consider your lifestyle and budget, but also think about the space you have. If you have a small kitchen space or limited work surface, it would not be a good idea to buy a model that takes up most of your worktop.

Once you have thought about the key deciding factors; budget, lifestyle and available space in your kitchen, you can then look at what type of model you would like.

Capsule coffee machines are quick, convenient and easy to use, with different flavours and strengths available and fresh coffee at the touch of a button. The sealed design of the capsule means the coffee is always fresh, perfect if you do not use your machine on a daily basis, however the capsules can be fairly expensive depending on what brand you choose.

The classic and most traditional type of coffee machine that allows you to adjust and customize your coffee to suit your taste by choosing how much ground coffee, water and steam you use. This requires more effort than just pressing a button, but enables you to tailor your coffee to your preference.

Filter machines can use either permanent or disposable filters, and can process both ground coffee or coffee beans. Most models have a warming function to keep a pot of coffee warmer for longer and makes between 10 to 15 cups at a time.

Bean to Cup

Bean to cup machines grind fresh coffee beans straight to your cup, providing freshly ground, barista-style coffee every time. Models can be expensive however, they make a long-term great investment and can save you money in the long run.

All models come in different colours with extra features depending on what you prefer.
