How to create a Great British Bake Off kitchen in your home

The Great British Bake Off.

The Great British Bake Off is back again, showcasing 12 passionate amateur bakers competing to be crowned the UK’s Best Baker of 2017. You may have noticed a few changes this series but the Bake Off appeal still remains.

Alongside the showstoppers, signature, and technical bakes, you will notice a perfect kitchen setting. A picturesque backdrop of colour and country charm, with a rainbow display of mixers, soft pastel refrigerators and cabinetry, amid the sleekest of hobs and ovens complete with disappearing doors. A kitchen only dreams are made of? Let’s turn your dream kitchen into a reality!

Here’s how to create your own Great British Bake Off kitchen in your home.

  1. The Appliances

A great kitchen needs great appliances, and style is just as important as function when it comes to your main kitchen appliances. There are many different styles to choose from, and in the case of GBBO, they have chosen a retro style fridge, in a spectrum of soft pastels.

  1. The Accessories

Each baking station is equipped with the best of the best tools and utensils in the game, but the one that always stands out the most is the stand mixer, such as the KitchenAid stand mixer which is available in a whole palette of different colours to suit any style home. The retro style Smeg stand mixer is available in a selection of muted tones, offering a classic addition to your kitchen.

  1. The Cooking

The perfect kitchen needs the perfect oven and if you are a serious cook / baker yourself, you will have noticed the beautifully designed NEFF Slide&Hide® Oven. This oven is designed solely with the user in mind, efficiently creating more space whilst allowing you to reach closer to the oven. This comes in handy when checking food and navigating piping hot trays, allowing you to create fabulous food with nothing in your way!

Another must have in the GBBO kitchen is a warming drawer. Warming drawers are key if you have several things on the go and need to keep them warm to serve.

The hob is the final ingredient to the perfect cooking station, and there are many different types to choose from. The Great British Bake Off makes use of an induction hob, which work by heating the pan rather than the hob, meaning heat is only conducted when in contact with the correct material.

Are you a keen baker? Why not join the NEFF Bake It Yourself community packed with baking recipes and tips, and the chance to win some great prizes! Find out more, and you could find yourself entering the next Bake Off!
