White Kitchen Ideas

For a refined kitchen…

White kitchens are timeless, no matter what style. Whether it is a contemporary or traditional design, white kitchens provide the perfect backdrop to make it your own.

However, an all-white kitchen isn’t always for everyone. Here are some great ideas if you are looking for a white kitchen, but don’t want a design that is too contemporary.

  1. Choose a shaker-style kitchen

The Shaker kitchen is a classic, panel design, one of the most traditional in kitchen designs. It has an effortless charm and character, and can be designed to look like a cosy country kitchen, or much more contemporary in a white finish, however the panel design and wood finish gives it a much softer appearance.

  1. Add a pastel hue

Choose one element such as your kitchen island or one part of your cabinetry, and paint it a pastel hue such as soft blue or grey. White is the perfect backdrop to include hints or sections of a different colour.

  1. Add a splash of colour

On the other hand, adding a vibrant, strong colour is also a great way to add some personality and design.

  1. Plants and Flowers

Plants and flowers are the perfect addition to any kitchen, adding a subtle hint of colour to the room. It’s the perfect design feature as it can be easily changed to create different looks, can be a main feature or just a small touch, and you also have a choice between real or artificial.

  1. Wooden accents

Wooden accents are the perfect complement to a white finish, adding a warm touch and creating a softer look.

  1. Mixed Materials

You can also achieve this by using mixed, natural materials. For example, wicker baskets for storage, stone counters or floors, or wooden cutlery.

  1. Lighting

The right lighting can create a huge impact in the kitchen. Whether you would like warm, soft lighting, or something a little grander such as an opulent chandelier, this can set the tone to your overall design.

  1. Open Storage

Open storage is a very popular option for both storage solutions and design features. You can also have the same effect but keep the dust out with a glass front.
